The following are typical ingredients of Rice Kheer:
• 250 gms Basmati Rice
• 3 liter of Milk
• Jaggery or Sugar (optional) as per taste (it is a sweet dish)
• ½ tsp Green Cardamom or Elaichi
• ½ cup of Raisins and Cashew Nut fried in ghee
• One pinch of saffron powder (optional)
Here is step by step method for food preparation of Indian Rice Kheer
1.Take thick bottom bowls wash the rice in water, and then boil it with milk in low flame.
2.Add the cardamom powder.
Stir continuously otherwise the milk will get burned at the base of the pan.3.When the rice is completely boiled, add jaggery or sugar and mix it consistently.
4.If you like, you may add saffron to it (it is not compulsory, it is used only to color the Kheer, and otherwise taste remains same)
5.Your Kheer is prepared now.
6.Garnish with fried (in ghee) raisins and cashew nut to the preparation.
7.You may serve it hot or put it in refrigerator to serve later.
